Common Roots Brewing company expands

Common Roots Brewing Company has expanded in South Glens Falls.

The Saratoga Avenue location includes a new barrel-aged beer production facility, increased storage space and a 200-person, four-season event space and beer garden.

The goal of the $3.6 million, 10,000-square-foot expansion is to make Common Roots a destination and to create jobs.

The business has grown significantly since its inception in 2013. It expanded from three employees and 500 barrels in its first year to dozens of employees and 10,000 barrels annually.

A fire destroyed the brewery’s original facility in 2019 and a new state-of-the-art brewery was built on the site and operational just 14 months after the fire.
