ALLEGAN, Mich. — The second annual ALEgan Beer, BBQ, and Blues Festival took place at the Allegan County Fairgrounds Saturday.
The festival included, 16 breweries, five BBQ vendors competing for attendees votes for best taste, blues music from the Aklees Blues Band, and Big Smooth and the Hell Raisers, organizers said.
“The first year was a resounding success and we are thrilled to continue one of West Michigan’s newest beer festivals with our friends from Tantrick Brewing Company,” said Allegan Jaycees Chairman of the Board Kayleigh Gratz. “This event is crafted in a way that is exciting for beer lovers, but also not intimidating for those who have never been to a beer festival before.”

- The Distant Whistle Brewhouse of Vicksburg
- Doster Brewing Company of Vicksburg
“Us Brewers are a tight-knit group, all of the brewers know each other. We share grains, ingredients, ideas, and even have a couple of drinks together,” said One Well Brewing’s Head Brewer and Production Manager Trevor Klimek.
According to organizers, Heronmark is making its festival debut. The brewery itself will officially open Thursday, June 8.
