DANVILLE, Va. (WFXR) — Peanut butter and jelly, hammers and nails, a needle and thread. Some things are just meant to go together, like beer and baseball, and it’s even better when they’re both local.
The Danville Otterbots have a new pitcher on their team. Not the one on the mound, we’re talking about the one on the table. Ballad Brewing created the perfect drink to sip on while you’re cheering on your favorite local baseball team– it’s called “Home Run Helles!”
This is not the first time these two have teamed up together. Last season, Ballad Brewing released the “Lagerbot.” This drink quickly became a fan favorite, prompting the creation of Home Run Helles.
Back in February, Otterbots season ticket holders and Ballad platinum society members were invited to a private event, where they had the opportunity to taste several beers, reviewing, critiquing, and ranking them.
The Ballad Brewing team, led by Chris Myers, carefully took note of the feedback and crafted Home Run Helles.
The Otterbots are excited about another collaboration– “With citrus forward hops and a light malty finish, Home Run Helles will knock your taste buds out of the park!”
Home Run Helles and Lagerbot can be ordered at the first home game of the season on June 6. Tickets for opening night can be purchased online here.
