The first Greencastle Craft Beer Festival in April 2014 and the second in April 2015 were held at the same place, when it was the parking lot of John Allison Public House.
The festival moved to the parking lot of Antrim Way Honda in 2016, when “wine” was added to the name. It’s been held there ever since, except when the festival was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and lingering brewery staffing issues in 2021. The name “spirits” was added for the 2022 return.
This year, the committee had to look for a new location because of work being done at Antrim Way Honda, explained Debby Cunningham, executive director of the Greencastle-Antrim Chamber of Commerce, which sponsors the festival.
Committee members discussed a lot of options and really looked at three locations before settling on the downtown site.
“I’d love for people to come early, walk downtown, see the shops and do a little retail therapy beforehand,” Cunningham said.
What craft beer will you find at the festival?
Twenty breweries were lined up to participate as of March 4.
From the immediate area, the list includes Hidden Key Brewing Co. of Greencastle, Maxie’s Brew House of Shippensburg and Rough Edges Brewing of Waynesboro.

What else is planned at the festival?
Food trucks from John Allison Public House and The Moo will be on hand.
Cunningham noted it’s nice that John Allison Public House, an original festival partner now located on South Antrim Way, is still involved.
“The community’s all working together to bring events to Greencastle,” she said.
People just looking for a snack can sample and purchase Thirsty Jerky.
Staff Infection will play hits from the 1970s through today and people are welcome to bring chairs to sit and listen, Cunningham said.
Small games of chance round out the selection.
